The Mark II |
The US Army is looking into new helmet designs to protect soldiers against IED explosions. The idea is to protect the entire face and head against blast waves and to provide support for the neck to prevent the skull whipping about and lightly shaking the brain.
Anyone else see where this is going?

I see that it would make rapid response to a non-IED threat (i.e., a jihadi with an AK-47) difficult, and peripheral vision nonexistent.
And forget about a proper cheek weld on your rifle.

Maybe that explains Imperial Stormtrooper marksmanship.
Sergej;
True, plus the fact that for some stupid reason, everybody in SW seems determined to consistently break Keith's Third Law; "Never bring a pistol to a rifle fight".
Even Star Trek outgrew that fundamental error in judgment. Eventually.
