Whither Britain?

I've often wondered about what would be the worst case scenario for Britain if the Jihadist threat continues to be downplayed as a mere criminal matter divorced from any other concern. Gates of Vienna looks at the question and comes up with what I'd call the third-worst outcome.

God preserve us from it, because the unwanted repercussions of the cure would be with us centuries after the disease was gone. As I keep saying, we only have the alternative between bad choices now and impossible choices later.

We've been looking at this situation in Britain for quite a while, but not nearly as long as, say, Theo. Dalrymple has been contemplating the subject.

The "third worst" scenarios are written by Brits who fear for their country.

Though the Baron lived in Yorkshire for four years, he doesn't consider himself an expert -- he leaves that to others. We are GoV are merely heart-broken on-lookers.

Not that the case in our country is much better if you look at the Political Class. However, the restless natives, descendants of those first rebels now joined mainly by Jacksonians (Scots-Irish) have no respect and little liking for the bi-coastal socialists.

I look to this summer with some trepidation, especially as unemployment has been disastrous for black people (not counting those already in middle-class jobs in government) and for the college-educated young, whose unemployment rates are as high as80% in some areas.

Meanwhile, in both groups, admiration for Obama and his wrong-way economics remains high.

Ever hear of flash mobs? If not, you'll see them this summer in full flower.
