Right Problem, Wrong Solution

Ingsoc

According to Scott Silverman, Chairman of the Board of VeriChip Corporation, the way to handle illegal immigration in the United States is to implant RFID chips in all immigrants and guest workers.

Having faced the insane trials and tribulations of going through legal immigration channels, I've a very dim view of those who try to jump the queue and am all in favour of extremely tight border controls. Build a wall; great. Impose a moratorium on general immigration; fine. Punitive penalties on black market employers; no problem. But when it comes to implanting tracking devices inside of human beings, I draw a very thick, firm line.

If you have purchased a new jacket, boots or other expensive clothing item recently you may already be carrying an RFID around with you everywhere you go. If you paid with plastic then it is linked to your name in some database somewhere. The other way you may already be charring a RFID is if you have any type of prosthetic implant including pins in bones, joint replacement and breast enhancement for females.
Happy anonymity to all
