Christianity? Pffft!

The former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey has proven once again that the Church of England is dedicated to its go-ahead mission of shedding any links with Christianity by stating that the next coronation should be an "inter-faith" affair.
It's got to be a much more interfaith coronation service next time around. Prince Charles put his finger on it and there's no way in which the sovereign can be defender of one faith. Although I hope that the next coronation will say very firmly that Christianity is still the dominant faith of the United Kingdom... it's got to be a much more inclusive character.
The fact that the coronation of a British monarch is a religious ceremony, and an explicitly Christian one at that, seems to have escaped the man who was allegedly a primate of the Anglican church who was himself charged with defending and promoting the faith.

Some say the C of E is dying. If so, it's because its clergy is shoving a pillow over its face.
