Copycat cocktails

BBC headline:
Children 'copy parents' drinking'
What rot. I can't stand neat gin, won't touch lager, and only indulge in methylated spirits at Christmas.

For me that would mean drinking (God help me) Old Granddad over ice from my dad, or Galliano, from a bottle that lasted my mom nearly a quarter century.

I've narrowed my tastes down to dry gin martinis (Bombay white) in the summer and scotch (Bunnahabhain; the only one that sounds the same drunk or sober) in the winter.

Life's too short to drink rotgut.
