Quote of the day

Mark Steyn:
Watching the Commander of the Pacific Fleet's deadpan face as Congressman Hank Johnson (D., Ga.) asks him about the danger of the island of Guam tipping over and capsizing is a glimpse of how the viziers to the loopier Ottoman sultans must have felt.

DeKalb County has a history of electing bubbleheads, remember the delightful Cynthia McKinney? (I was so happy to be away from there when I heard she was elected as the rep, then the next thing I knew a special gerrymandered district was created down here in southeast GA so she could get elected after being run out of the Atlanta area)

Before Cynthia we had Ben Jones whose only claim to fame was playing "Cooter" on the "Dukes of Hazzard", and before him we had Pat Swindall, who turned out to be one of the most appropriately named politicians in history, unless there was one someplace named Fred Cheatham.

The Washington correspondent for WSB radio in Atlanta yesterday claimed that Rep Johnson was joking, did he look like he was joking?

I don't think Sheila Jackson Lee (TX) was joking when she asked if the Mars Rover was going to be able to photograph the site where Neil Armstrong planted the flag.

I wish they were joking when they say they're going to be running the medical system in this country
