Time to start learning Chinese

Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.
He'd prefer his country wasn't?

A consistent picture of the man is emerging. I think that President Obama looks at Europe and likes what he sees. Massive governments providing a secure life for citizens, who in turn are content with whatever left-of-Trotsky bunch of oligarch-bureaucrats are in the local parliaments; lots of leisure as well as a little work now and then; time to develop one's Own Unique Selfness; opportunity to be as green as one wants and waggle one's finger at everyone else about polar bears; those uncouth Americans taking care of crass big-boy concerns like fielding an army. Notice that I said "what he sees", not "what's actually out there". NP[redacted]R attitudes. I've seen them in college, even among people who (unlike, I suspect, the President) are actually very intelligent.

So anyway, yes, I think he'd rather we were smaller, and kept more of our wealth inside our borders. The Ron Paul branch of the Silly Party is also showing severe isolationist tendencies; I think I sense a general desire for withdrawal in America. This is certain to end in having to deal with the world again (of course), and in finding the world a less familiar and friendly place when we do need to come out of our shell.
