Another epic featuring a grimacing John Saxon wandering across a desolate landscape seeking a couple of aspirin and a quiet lie down. By this time the budget people had just about let Roddenberry ride the Star Trek horse as far as he was going to. Why is it that the Roman garb is so prevalent in future themes? You never see a future society with bagpipes and kilts.
Don't know about all Roman all the time. What about the future societies where everyone wears identical jumpsuits? It's not an oppressive commie-nightmare-world like Mao's China because all the jumpsuits are brightly colored!
By the way, I watched the new Star Trek movie last night in the company of several geeks and/or nerds from work, and---it was good!
I'm curious about the name 'Dylan Hunt'. There are three Roddenberry series with a main character of this name, all of them a man awakened to revive civilization. The first was Alex Cord in the 1973 pilot Genesis II, the second was Mr Saxon in the Planet Earth series mentioned here. The third one was a little different. Rather than trying to revive civilization on Earth, in Andromeda Kevin Sorbo had the herculean task of rebuilding a Galactic civilization fallen to ruin.
