Tunku Varadarajan looks at Mr Barack Hussein Obama's trip to India immediately after the 2 November election and his cancelling of his visit to the Sikh Golden Temple at Amritsar for fear that wearing a skull cap will make him look too Muslim.
I can't decide which quote I like better: That this isn't paranoia, it's cowardice; or that this is Mr Obama's Carter and the rabbit moment.

Not sure about a Peanut/Wabbit moment. The wabbit moment came down to a picture: the President of the United States flailing impotently at the slavering, primordial, fangly-toothed swamp horror (a rabbit). One could supply the sound effects himself. This is a lack-of-moment, with the corresponding lack of picture. We are visual creatures, and while a picture would be damaging, a not-picture will end up being mostly forgotten.
I do not believe that popcorn is in order, in any case. As we see, Britain has been going all Euro lately, and Western Europe remains itself. Both are implicitly relying on the US to have muscle where they refuse to. Having an Amazing Imploding Idiot in the White House is more horrifying than amusing. It may be a better gesture to break out a good single malt, pour a stiff shot, and face what develops with dignity.
I agree, but I think it may only be a problem for another fortnight. With a bit of lucky, Barry Soetoro will get such a pounding at the polls that he'll be faced with either resigning or two years as a lame duck president who's little more than a figurehead.
At this point, even President Biden looks like an improvement.
I suspect he will resign. A narcissist with an ego as colossal as his simply cannot tolerate not being in charge.
As for Biden, he worries me less than the prospect of Hillary as VP.
cheers (more or less)
