I guess you're right. I was thinking of the earlier effort. But as I recall, the Space Turnip never was given a name, so he will always be Zontar to me.
Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed the resemblance between a certain Venezuelan dictator and a turnip? Uncanny, really.
