When Carter was campaigning for Governor here in GA in 1970 he was blocking the sidewalk outside the local Kroger's grocery store. When my mom came out of the store with me in tow (I was 9 at the time) she was confronted by Carter who said "I hope you're going to vote for me". My mom looked him up and down and said, "I don't think so".
She has always had a way of sizing someone up as a rat instantly, and I'm glad to see this article confirms her ability.
