Putting a Damper on Things

NASA is preparing to send a team of astronauts to an underwater habitat this May. The mission is partially to test new equipment, but mainly to keep an eye on the astronauts in the light of recent events.

Can't be too careful these days. After all, duct tape can only do so much.

It's time NASA started to think about the parts of their astronauts below the waist, so to speak. A voyage to Mars would be at _least_ three years (for a quick flags-and-footprints stop) or four and a half years for an extended stay. Asking people to stay celibate that long is a bit much, and you certainly don't want hammer-waving jealous lovers on a spacecraft. I think the most logical solution would be to recruit and assign married couples as couples. (And for a bonus, the ideal mission would be one het and one hom couple to minimize infidelity issues.)
