Squadie... of the FUTURE!

They might want to think the helmet through a bit more.

I don't know. Looks fine to me. As long as they don't neglect the marksmanship practice.

My Canon digital camera puts a green box
around faces.

I wonder if that technology could be incorporated
into a gunsight?

Compressed gas thrusters at the muzzel to correct
the aim as the trigger is pulled?

Cheaper then building guidence into the bullets!

Nice to see .30 cal bullets coming back but I'm guessing it's 7.62x39 and not a .308 NATO

I can't read the name Lewis without thinking about that big round magazine up on top and .303 rounds in the box.

It's also nice to see a combat rifle that can be fired around a left-hand corner in MOBUA ops without either;

1. Getting a hot case up your nose or

2. Having to "take two steps out from corner, and maintain fire from the right shoulder" (exact wording of the SA86 5.56 rifle manual).

(1) is uncomfortable. (2) is a good way to get shot. It amazes me nobody thought of this when they decided a "bullpup" rifle was the way to go.

Incidentally, if you disregard the Barrett .50-style octagonal receiver, the "future rifle" looks suspiciously like an AR-15 development.

cheers

Well, the helmet does look a little "Mid-80's Golan Globus Road Warrior ripoff" but it's a prototype, so I expect it to look a little more badass in the final product.

Looks like a stormtrooper helmet (Star Wars, not Nazi).
