Moon bomb

Nasa to bomb Moon on Friday.

Moon threatens retaliation.

Update: Well, at least they aren't using nukes this time.

David, the blue 'Nuke' is the most interesting part.

Included in the article is the 'Lunar Missile Base' concept.

Is it your site that debunks it?
Or did you debunk the 'Orbital Missile Platform'?

I would think there's a cheaper way than putting ICBMs (or would they be MLRVs?) on the moon to get "Got You Last" capability.

PS: The illustration shows a mushroom cloud on the moon.
[Game Show Buzzer Sound]
No atmosphere = No mushroom cloud.

By the way... "Destination Moon" said there would be no defense from a missile attack from the moon.
True.
Also true.. no defense from a missile attack from the earth.

No reply to my comment on the radio show as yet.

Actually, ToFP debunks both the orbital & Moon option. If anything, the Moon base is even worse than an orbiting platform because, yes, you can use a small rocket to drop a bomb down the "well", but that bomb will take 3 to 5 days to travel along a very easy to intercept course. If you want to have any real effect, you need a booster larger than a conventional ICBM. In which case, why not use the ICBM in a much easier to maintain and defend Earth location and be done with it?

I'm no "flat earthist" but given the mess that man has made of our own world, why should we be wanting to dump crap on some one elses doorstep ?
