Sir Terry Pratchett

Congratulations, Sir Terry. It's good to see you getting a knighthood before that wretched Rowling woman who isn't fit to sharpen your pen nibs.

Maybe he's getting now while he can still appreciate it.
Thanks to socialized medicine, he doesn't qualify for anti-Alzheimer's medication.*

(I would hope he is buying it illegally from some reputable drug dealer.)

*Or so I heard.

I think Sir Terry can afford whatever medications will help him -- and I fervently hope something will.

(BTW, it's tacky to use someone's mind-destroying illness to make a political point.)

I googled after posting....

It turnes out he is getting medications that he pays for.
He donated .5m pounds (dang! I can't type the snooty L!) towards Alzeimer's research.
He has the 'good' type that medication deferrs.
He hope to write several more books but will use the spell checker more often.

I think HE is somewhat steamed with the British health system.
