Nice concept. But face it, the only possible market for this thing would be the geek and/or nerd demographic, and with these people, a coffee table is not as much a piece of furniture that you get to see, as a roughly rectangular shape underneath several cubic yards of books, papers, magazines, etc. My own being a case in point.
Sergej, I was thinking you had been peering into my house! I have a similarly laden table, although it's glass and kidney shaped. If I ever see it again I will be able to admire the retro look.
Looks good, I must admit. But the "samples of each element embedded into the table" bit, combined with the Lanthanides/Actinides sections, would worry me somewhat.
I wouldn't like to put down a tasty breakfast pastry, for example, only to pick it up again and discover that it has grown tentacles and laser-eyes, and calls me "massssster" with toothy jaws.
