Survival Kit

My daughter's kindergarten asked us to pack an emergency kit for her in case of earthquake and the like. We sent along this one, but for some reason her teacher said they prefered something more along the lines of crackers and colouring books.

Go figure.

Well, this makes sense! If I'm ever attacked by a bear while hiking in the woods I'll just dig the Pelican case out of my pack, load up and start a-sprayin' lead, bearward!

Of course, considering that I'll need a carry permit in any case, I could just carry my .45 in a holster if I think myself likely to be attacked by wildlife. I'd even be able to hit something at more than five yards---bonus!

A Leatherman tool, a roll of duct tape, a Snickers bar, and an old copy of Penthouse. All you need for any disaster.
