From Fingerpaints to Fingerprints

Under new laws being drawn up in secret by the EU and subject to neither votes by the people nor the approval of parliament, British children as young as six will be subject compulsory fingerprinting and their prints stored on a central (European) database.

No word yet as to when they will have the bar codes tattooed on the back of their necks.

Why? Did they state a supposed reason for fingerprinting the children? I work for an organization that stays up on underground information and I've learned that america is trying to create a National ID that will require us to have a DNA Sample on it so it can be scanned 'In case of Emergency' soon our State ID's will be invalid and we'll be forced to have this National ID card to work, obtain a residence, open a bank account, get Financial Assistance, etc. Just wondering if the EU is trying to do something same as our government?
