A parabolic mirror a diameter of one km and a focal length of 12800 km (8000 miles) would look flat to the spacesuited eye.
Maybe it would be composed of hundreds of independently gimbaled flat mirrors.
Each would only have to tilt a few degrees.

PS: Sure sodium is light, but how about silver FOIL?
ACC had a sodium mirror in one story.
I said to the book I was holding,"Aluminum Foil, you idiot!".
Is there a metal with very little heat expansion?
