Sound of Silence

Rachel Carson at 100: Green heroine or architect of alarmism?

2 comments:

  1. Beside John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt, I scoff at the idea of the existance of many more Green Sain--er--heroes.

Then again, I'm also an unabashed heretic; got meself excommunicated from the Gaian Church by edict of the Ecopope!

  2. might even surpass ole' Stalin for the number of people DEAD because of her. Indiscriminate use of DDT did cause problems, but since its banning some populations have apparently been unable to successfully control crop infestations and disease carriers. Resulting in death by starvation and disease........everything has a price.
