Geneva Disconnect

The American war effort suffered a major blow when the recent Supreme Court decision forced the administration to grant Geneva Convention status to Guantanamo inmates. If the Conventions are fully implemented and the inmates are declared prisoners of war, it will make it impossible to interrogate captured Jihadists and would require such lax security that the military will be unable to prevent further suicides, passing of secret messages back and forth to the outside world, or even attacks on guards.

And why is this being done? According to Brigadier General David Brahms, the former chief lawyer for the Marine Corps, who spoke to The New York Times, it to protect American soldiers who fall into the hands of Jihadists.

Our central theme in all this has always been our great concern about reciprocity. We don't want someone saying they've got our folks as captives and we're going to do to them exactly what you've done because we no longer hold any moral high ground.

Yes, that will really impress the beheaders.
