Douglas conjunction-class Mars mission
Beyond Apollo looks at Douglas's 1965 study for getting to Mars fast.
I miss the days when talk of a manned Mars mission was something taken seriously.

Me to. It's impossible, because the best and brightest that could be sent would become drooling mad lunatics after a year or more to get there. Ask the USSR what happens when you leave someone up there for that long... I do have a suitably outrageous suggestion though. Yes I have a website, "artsandcraftsnomore" with the most common suffix added on the end.
