After retiring the Space Shuttle it looked as if the US government was going to sit out manned spaceflight, but now it the US Air Force and Boeing are looking at building a manned variant of the super secret X-37B space plane.
Encouraging news. Let's just hope President Golfpants doesn't get wind of it or it'll get scratched to pay for another phalanx of windmills.
Update: Right now, he's too busy with the scissors elsewhere.
