Asking Inappropriate Questions

1 comment:

  1. I've encountered this in New England, but not in Minnesota. When I came out here, I was surprised at how many people tried to "place" me, and amused by the difficulties they encountered. Martial arts and shooting are low-class pursuits (apparently), while having read a few books and the tech job are higher-class indicators, though not sufficiently high-class to make my deficiencies into lovable eccentricities. Minnesota, I felt people doing this a lot less.

Eventually, I think, the locals got to know me, and now I no longer need pigeonholing. So they've stopped. Or given up.

    Next topic: religion.
