Liquid Lunch

The idea of a liquid food has been kicked around about once every ten years ever since Hugo Gernsback proposed the first all-soup restaurant back in 1908.  The details differ and the reasons do as well.  Every excuse from feeding space travellers to people with their jaws in traction have been put forward.  So far, the only successful liquid food substitute has been Guinness and even that has to be topped off with a donner kebab at the end of the evening. Now PepsiCo rolls out a new "snack beverage" and Dvice waxes wroth about pureed bacon and people ending up looking like a cartoon extra out of Wall-E. 

Unfortuatnely, Dvice didn't read the Wall Street Journal article closely enough or they would have noticed that it's just a way of marketing their own take on apple sauce in a pouch of the sort I pack in my daughter's lunches.
