Fined for definition of character

MEP Nigel Farage has been fined €3,000 for refusing to apologise for insulting the jumped up little gasbag European "President."

I particularly like this quote in the BBC story from the President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek:
But... his behaviour towards Mr Van Rompuy was inappropriate, unparliamentary and insulting to the dignity of the House... I cannot accept this sort of behaviour in the European Parliament.
Dignity of the European Parliament? That Potemkin village of a talking shop that serves as a toothless front for the true, unelected rulers of the EU, including that "low-grade bank clerk," doesn't have any dignity to insult. I've seen stuffed clown cars running a gantlet of cream pies in the middle of a midwinter nudist's convention with more gravitas.

Keep up the good work, Mr Farage. The one thing these power grabbers can't survive is ridicule.

  1. Uh, small question if you don't mind. How did you happen to have occasion to see stuffed clown cars, etc., etc.? Not that it matters, but you know, just curious.

  2. It's a long story involving tequila and a cormorant, so the details are a little hazy.
