Wow, even more than revision, just simple history omission.
ReplyDeleteThat's been working here in the US for a long time, I don't know how many people I've mentioned some historic event to and had the importance of that event dismissed with the same phrase "that was before I was born".
It's been over 20 years that I was taken aback in my old surplus store by a girl that was puzzling over some WWII stuff I had and said "I haven't had any history yet, it's just my first year in college".
Government schools have managed to send history (and math and science too it seems) to the back of the educational line.
I just wonder what they do all day in those government kiddie farms
