Big Ben is 150 years old. Huzzah!Unlike Mr Stephen Bayley, who has a piece in The Spectator commemorating the event, I didn't live near Westminster, I used to live in it–in fact, I was about 400 yard away from the Houses of Parliament, which meant that I had to sleep in fifteen minute bursts. It made for great training for fatherhood.
