Captain Nemo's Pedalo

We present the next great stride in man's ongoing conquest of the ocean depths: The pedal-powered submarine.

Next up: The horse-drawn bathysphere.

  1. Wasn't there a pedal-powered scuba scooter at some point? Sure, it's not going to outswim a shark (you don't need to outswim a shark---only your dive buddy!), but it's still more efficient than paddling, and a lot lighter and simpler than batteries and motors. I'm kinda' curious if the bubble is at ambient pressure or 1atm. Ambient, and those cylinders of air/oxygen in the picture won't last long, but 1atm, with CO2 scrubbage, may give some sort of bottom times. The simplest thing to do would be ambient-pressure, open circuit, which would make the thing a dangerous bad joke.

Since there is postage, I take it that our host is back in the world of the living, and I am glad.
