Apparently Robert Downey Jr's portrayal of Kirk Lazarus's deep method acting is closer to truth than I thought, though in reverse. I was rewatching the 1932 version of The Most Dangerous Game when I came across this character who looked oddly familiar:
Recognise him? It's the Black American actor Noble Johnson in white face playing a Cossack. A pity they didn't have DVDs in those days. I'd be interested to know if he'd have stayed in character until he finished the commentary track.Meanwhile, here's the feature itself. Enjoy
