Formula AE

A green supercar that runs on solar power and has a wind turbine inside that provides the car with 20 percent more power from the air rushing past as it speeds along.

And I can lift myself off the ground by my bootstraps.

  1. I always wondered if sucking up the air
in front of a car would save more energy
from reduced air resistance than to
    power the vacuum.

That's why I liked the 1930s car with the
    propeller on the front.

  2. It isn't just the concept that's fanciful, the article quotes the "spokesman" as saying; "The target market would be the sports car, track day, eco-concerned auto-enthusiast."
They are as likely to find one of those as they are to get a prototype running.
I'm sure Clarkson will give it a fair shake on Top Gear when (if) it is road ready.
They should go ahead and say it flies and makes hydrogen powered coffee as well.
I like the matter-of-fact way the Telegraph reports it, I had to check and make sure it wasn't an article from the Onion

  3. jayessell: propeller in front? I would think, propeller beanie on top of the guy proposing it. Is public school science education really in such poor shape?
