Martha Stewart: Space Caterer

Astronaut food hasn't generally that much to write home about. After all, how much can one do with reconstituted shrimp cocktail? So it isn't surprising that billionaire "space tourist" Charles Simonyi called on his friend Martha Stewart to come up with a little box lunch to take on the trip.
The menu includes quail roasted in Madiran wine, duck breast confit with capers, shredded chicken parmentier, apple fondant pieces, rice pudding with candied fruit, and semolina cake with dried apricots. It was to be prepared by celebrity chef Alain Ducasse's consulting and training center, ADF.
In space, no one can hear you being done over by the space station crew for your duck breast confit.

  1. It may just be me, but...does anyone have a bad feeling that the ISS is going to be brought down by a wayward piece of candied fruit lodged in the control panel?

    Just a concern.
