I hereby declare that if in five hundred years any fool descendant of mine does to me
what Sir Jack Hawkins' did to him, I shall show up in his bedroom and rattle my chains so hard that he never gets a decent night's sleep again.
The slave trade is a great evil that mankind is better off without and contrition is all well and good, but beating your chest over another man's sins is both presumptuous and the height of arrogance.
