I had a Black and Tan hound that used to fall asleep like this.
ReplyDeleteOf course, one time during a monster thunderstorm he refused to come in the house. And so was standing right under a big peach tree when it got hit by lightning. As in , "Ka-bleeping-BOOM". And a big limb massing about 200 lbs. came crashing down right where he was.
I'm expecting to have to deal with about sixty pounds of barbecued muttburger. Instead, when the afterimages cleared, he was sitting there, next to the downed limb, on his haunches, and looking at the tree with his tongue hanging out in a typical goofy doggy grin. And then he yipped happily, as if to say, "Wow, COOL! Do it AGAIN!!"
My mother just shook her head and said, "That dog will live forever, because he's too dumb to die."
For all I know, maybe he did.
