Homemade vehicles

If the government keeps trying to force "green" vehicles down our throats, these could make a comeback.

  1. Check out here. Raimo Päätalo built his home-made aeroplane from furniture aluminium tubing, steel wire and plastic fertilizer sacks. The power plant is Volkswagen engine.

The total flight time of Tiira has been 70 hours. It could have been even more if Mr. Päätalo hadn't become a proficient pilot with that contraption and risen to an altitude where the Oulu flight control radar intercepted him. The law showed very little of sense of humour on him. Tiira was seized and Päätalo sentenced to four months in prison for unlawful aviation activities.

Tiira is currently in Central Finland Aviation Museum.
