Five in five

IBM's take on the advances of the next five years.

My take on all this:

  1. I have an idea, let's build those things called "power plants" instead.  Then we won't need to reinvent the butter churn.
  2. I'll believe it when I see it.
  3. My mind isn't a very nice place to be.
  4. A 7th century barbarian with a smart phone is still a barbarian.
  5. If I didn't ask for it, it's junk mail.

3 comments:

  1. About halfway through I clicked the snowflake button and watched the snow pile up like little diatoms.
It was more interesting than being preached to by some whingy guy from IBM.

As for number 4, I'll proudly be a 20 percenter.

As for the rest, David says it far better than could I.

  2. And in five and a half years, advertisers will beam content directly to your brain...

  3. That has to be the dumbest thing I've seen this year. Thankfully it's 2/1/12 (UK date format) as I watch it so things might pick up later. On the first idea where they joyfully divert energy from the bicycle wheel to a storage device, have these guys ever been on a bike with a dynamo on? That energy still has to come from somewhere, and apart from the odd downhill stretch, most of that will be supplied by the human digestive system... Have any of you lot seen episode 2 of Black Mirror yet?
