G-Wiz owners thrilled

Britain's energy secretary Mr Christopher "Chris" Huhne says that only electric vehicles should be allowed to take advantage of the new 80 mph speed limit.

It isn't often that one sees a cabinet minister go stark, staring mad before your very eyes.

  1. I particularly like his justification - if only electric vehicles are allowed to do 80, there'll be no increase in carbon emissions.

A moments silence, please, for the public understanding of physics, which has passed away after a long decline.

Interestingly. there didn't seem to be any mention of the logical corollary - only electric vehicles being subject to the new 20 mph limits. Must have slipped his mind...

  2. And for an encore, I'm sure he wants access to London Airport restricted to human-powered jumbos with all 600+ passengers pedaling frantically- as the plane swims down the Estuary.

I've given up trying to explain the Laws of Thermodynamics to people like this. Let alone the concept that "batteries don't create energy, they just store it, and it has to come from somewhere else".

Heinlein was right. You really CAN'T cure stupid.

    cheers

  3. Rather passive-aggressive. I'm not sure the Duracells in the electric cars will make 40.

  4. Every electric car can do 80mph, all you need is a tall enough multi-story car park to drive off...

  5. You're right, Cthel. Worst case, you can always put a big old rubber band in there. Hey---you can wind it up with one of those windmill thingies!

Excuse me, folks. I believe I need to file something at the patent office.
