Ten of the best British sports cars

Lotus 7.  Definitely the Lotus 7.

  1. A good list of choices. However, I would point out that in the original 1959 novel, "Goldfinger", 007 drove a DB4, not the later DB5.

I'd add the AC 428 to the list, in place of the TVR8. It was V-8 powered back in the Sixties. Granted, it could easily be mistaken for a Fiat 124 Spyder in the Seventies- that is, until the driver put his or her foot down.

  2. Yes. Lotus Seven, number plate KAR 120C, was the one used in the series. Automobiles in the UK generally keep the same plate number throughout their "lives", unlike here in the US.
