James Burke and the Apollo spacesuit



This is one of the things I recall most vividly from the BBC's coverage of the Apollo 11 landing. Maybe I'd read Have Spacesuit, Will Travel too many times, but I really wanted one of these.



James May trying it out in reverse decades later. I suspect that this replica isn't that accurate or Mr May would have been dying of heat exhaustion by the time he went for his cheeseburger.

  1. unless of course it's a sufficiently accurate reproduction that it incorporates the air-conditioned undersuit...
