    They've outdone even Tom Wolfe's bete noires, the strap-and-chrome dining-room chair and the Barcelona chair.

    For their next trick, they will reintroduce the spiked chair, beloved of the Inquisition and witchfinders, as the latest thing in high-tech comfort.

    I think I'll get a couple of cushions and sit on the floor.
