Ghost cities

Siberia is notorious for being one of the few regions on the face of the Earth that was literally colonised at gunpoint.  Now that the guns have stopped pointing, the Stalinesque cities are nearly deserted and the slapdash buildings are crumbling into the permafrost.

I'm not surprised.
