But I thought I was King!

Does Mr Barack Hussein Obama want out?

Roger Simon feels that a beaten, isolated, and demoralised Mr Obama who merely sits out his presidency would be a bad thing. Given how this tin-plated messiah turned out, giving him an unlimited golf pass seems to me like the perfect solution.

  1. I'm sure Phaeton would also have been glad to end his ride.

Arguing with Mr. Simon, I'd say that with a firm hand on the tiller, there is at least the hope that the captain will see that he's going in the wrong direction, and change course. As it is, a lot of harm can happen in two and a half years of rudderless drifting.

  2. I take your point, but that assumes that the captain won't go hunting down icebergs to ram in a fit of pique.

It's a shame that the United States doesn't have the equivalent of a vote of no confidence. I have no idea how to make it work in a system where the presidency is an independent branch of government, so it would have to be by some sort of public referendum or vote by state legislatures, which would be as messy as impeachment.

Still, even Mr Joesph "You'd rather have HIM for president?!?" Biden is looking like the lesser of two evils.
