Obama carrying an umbrella -- the most AMAZING diplomatic gesture since the invention of SPEECH! A MAJOR SHIFT in US-Chinese relations!
Actually, Chamberlain wasn't so bad - he did what he had to do at the time. It's only the viccisitudes of history that have damned his name to hell forever as an 'appeaser'. yes, he appeased hitler, but at the time the british army was in absolutely no shape to combat germany. he was basically stalling for time so the military production reforms (which he instituted) could take effect and the british would have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the fight. and where was the US during this period? hating jews, mostly.
