Simple question, simple answer

Telegraph headline:
New defintion of victory needed in Afghanistan, says military
How about this one courtesy of Ronald Regan regarding the Soviet Union:

  1. Do we *have* a definition of victory in Afghanistan? Do we want to turn it into Sweden? Do we just want to deny it as a base to anti-Western terrorists? Something in between?

I don't think anyone in charge really has a clue where we should be going with this place:-(
