    Yes, it seems to be the result of the editing software having trouble with widescreen.

    Speaking of encoding software/hardware....
    Is there any with "dejittering"?
    Automatically moves the encoded image up and down to stabilize the image?

    I may have to buy a USBVHS player to DVD my 10 -20 year old tapes.

    If I pointed the digital camera at the HDTV, I'd lose color and sound quality,but it would be YouTubeable immediately.
