City of Domes


Now where have we seen this sort of thing before?

  2. Just about to watch the video at the website.
    But...
    Wouldn't the dome have to be constructed first THEN the city?
    Build the top. Jack it up.
    Build around that. Jack it up.
    Repeat.
    When complete, insert city.
    Or...
    Build a dome shaped building.
    THAT'S the city.

  3. First one, jayessell. It's just like a ship in a bottle. Build dome; insert city; pull on string, and---pop! up come the buildings!

    Not shown is the AC units with condensers the size of nuclear plant cooling towers.

    The online video didn't mention silvering the plastic panels to reflect most of the sunlight away.

    The Arthur C. Clarke's moonbase had the dome opaque and white on the inside with pictures of clouds projected on it.

    He didn't anticipate video projectors and laser graphics advertisements.
