Al Gored

Former Vice President Al Gore, stung by the fact that his Tennessee mansion uses as much power as some Balkan states, spent $16,533 on new windows, duct work, a geothermal heating system and replacing all the light bulbs with the trendy fluorescent types–and saw his electricity bill go up ten percent.

To be fair, though, hunting Manbearpig is energy intensive.

  1. Speaking of weird-looking creatures (sorry Al), have you heard of Spore? It's a computer game that allows you to design and control a creature from amoeba stage to space-faring stage.

They recently released the bit that lets you create creatures. Try it, and please post your creations, as I'd like to see what Gaian-eating monstrosities you could cook up. :D

(Just download the trial edition, it's got more than enough bits to create things.)

  2. PS: Don't know where you stand on the Evolution/ID&Creationist debate (I'm for the former, it being a theory rather than a hypothesis), but this sorta blows Intelligent Design out of the water.
I mean, what kind of Designer would have made us so boring? They could have at least added some dextrous grasping tentacles (they're always in vogue).
