Reality Optional

Frog Design has come up with a concept for a face mask that allows the wearer to overlay the real world with a virtual "skin" that filters out any unwelcome sights, sounds or even smells.

Putting aside the fact that tigers, muggers and open manholes are somewhat resistant to digital editing when you're up close, we'd like to respectfully point out that Zaphod Beeblebrox got there first–with predictable results.

  1. Beer Googles!

Program them to re-image everyone (including yourself in the mirror) as models.
    (Get the genders right though!)

Was there a SciFi story where Xenophobes wore re-imaging goggles when meeting Aliens?

(Or was that the story I was going to write?)
