Happy Independence Day
It's Independence Day in the United States and to mark the occasion, I'm posting this clip of the amazingly popular fireworks at Chez Szondy.
We don't believe in half measures.

Nice clips.
ReplyDeleteI especially liked the high altitude tests, not so far (not far enough!) from Hawaii, as the EMP blacked out parts of the island!
Supposedly, someone wanted to detonate a nuke a million miles due up (4 times as far away as he moon) to see if all the wavelengths arrived on earth simultaneously.
Project cancelled due to cost, and the repercushtions of launch device failure (more specificly, partial failure, say for instance the third stage.)
Dang!
I'd like to have seen that!
Just a flash? Or a point of light that gets bigger and bigger then fades away?
I get choked up every time I hear that song...
