Falklands War Do-Over

Argentina is making another bid to take over the Falkland Islands; this time through "world opinion" over the issue of fishing rights.

Hopefully, Whitehall will respond with a brief missive that begins with "get" and ends with "stuffed."

  1. To be able to do that you need to be in a military position to do so. I'm not sure we are. Argentine pressure is not just diplomatic - they have rearmed their airforce recently ( despite their dire economic position at the time ) and are testing RAF air defence times. I had a post on this too

  2. The argentine populist government is trying any move to gain public support, and the Falklands Issue is now the best choice to add a few points in the polls.
Man in a shed is quite wrong about the argentine military capabilities, that right now are a little bit about zero.

A post about the new argentine claim, in spanish, here
